Completing assignments is vital to students mastering objectives.
And tracking when a student completes an assignment, whether in class or for homework, is a great asset to teachers and administrators.
Follow the steps in this guide to create – and follow through on – consistent homework policies using LiveSchool.
Before customizing your LiveSchool site, there are a few questions you should answer as a leadership team. At your next leadership meeting, decide:
- When will homework be checked?
- When is an assignment considered on time? Incomplete? Late?
- How many days does a student have to make up homework?
- Do you give points for complete homework? Or just take away points for incomplete homework?
Once you have established your policies, you should write them up in a basic document or email and present to your staff.
Let's customize your LiveSchool site to track your homework policy. First, navigate to Site mode.

Next, choose Edit Your Behavior Rubric.

Click on the New Category button

Name the category Homework.

Click the New Behavior button underneath the Homework category.

Ee recommend you get specific about the type of homework you are tracking when you create the behavior buttons, like:
- ELA Homework
- Math Homework
- Social Studies Homework
- Science Homework

This will make your data even more specific!

When a student does not complete a homework assignment, teachers and administrators should track this on the behavior rubric.
